Kennesaw State University Symphony Orchestra 2010 - Present

The Kennesaw State University Symphony Orchestra began in the Fall of 2004. The orchestra performs a wide variety of repertoire from all time periods and styles. Students in the orchestra are made up of music majors and non-music majors with an interest in orchestral repertoire and come from distinguished high school programs and honor ensembles including the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra, Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony, and Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Georgia Philharmonic 2008-Present

 Semi-professional orchestra that mainly performs in the Roswell, Georgia area. Originally lead by conductor Phillip Rice for about 17 years.

Transylvania Symphony Orchestra at Brevard Music Center 2010

The Brevard Music Center is a community of student and professional musicians who aspire to ever-higher levels of artistry. Since all members of the community reside on campus, learning occurs constantly and is manifest through intensive practice and rehearsal and a challenging concert schedule. A consistently high level of public performance is a hallmark of the Brevard Music Center.

Pope High School Advanced Orchestra 2006-2010

High school's highest level orchestra. Superior ratings in various festivals and participation in several clinics in venues such as New York and Indiana.

Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra 2009-2010

An organization featuring Atlanta's young instrumentalists, created in 1974.

Every September, about 400 middle to high school instrumentalists go through one or more auditions for places in the ASYO (the minimum age requirement is 13, though exceptions are made). Only about 120 will be selected to participate in the season.

The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra is currently conducted by Jere Flint.

Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra 2007-2010

Founded in 2006, the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra is already the largest youth orchestra program in the southeast. The Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra and Chorus program encompasses two full orchestras, two string orchestras, two wind ensembles, a jazz ensemble, a percussion ensemble, a chamber music program and two youth choruses.

The Symphony Orchestra is the most advanced orchestral ensemble in the GYSO program. Students in the Symphony Orchestra enjoy opportunities performing in chamber music settings, commissioning new works, and collaborating with guest artists. The Symphony explores some of the greatest orchestral repertoire from all styles and time periods.

GYSO is currently conducted by Dr. Michael Alexander.
